Beyond our lavender rows, Red Mountain rises out of the sagebrush and holds the last light of every evening. Each spring the cheatgrass on its slopes blushes red, giving the mountain its name, and each fall the crush fills this valley with the smell of harvest. The wines made on that hillside are known around the world. The ritual of tasting them is known to everyone who lives here.
